It wasn't readily at all apparent when I drove away in my brand new 2024 Equinox EV from Novato Chevrolet on December 17. But about a week later, excessive wind noise at the driver side door prompted me to take a close look at it. Several things caused me to realize that some damage had occurred in the five or so months between the manufacture date and December ... which caused misalignment of the door and wind noise around the weather seal. Visually the damage was very subtle and couldn't have been noticed by Novato Chevrolet's staff without my discovery of the wind noise coming through. I informed Novato Chevrolet of my findings and made a Service Center appointment. Before leaving home, I marked the areas of concern with painters tape. Upon my arrival, it was only minutes until the staff was seriously inspecting the door. They confirmed the problem. Overnight, they got the door back into spec! I am very pleased with the attention and outcome.

My only complaint is that it’s hard to get to talk to an advisor, especially, when calling on the phone. I dropped my truck off on a Sunday for a 7:30 appointment on Monday. I then called the next morning at 7:30 to review my work with the advisor and the person who answered the phone couldn’t tell who I was regardless of what information I gave them my name, my phone number, because I hadn’t been checked in yet and it seems like there’s a communication breakdown there.

My recent experience with Novato Chevrolet that I feel compelled to share. I found the vehicle that I liked, with a great price and features that suited my needs. However, my visit to the dealership turned out to be quite frustrating. Despite confirming over the phone that the car was in stock, I was unprepared for the lengthy negotiation process that followed. The finance department pushed various dealer markup items that were not disclosed in their online ad or during our initial conversation. This led to about 3 hours of back-and-forth discussions, which felt like a significant waste of time. Ultimately, I did reach an agreement and ended up paying for these items at what they called a "discount price." While I did get the car, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. My advice to anyone considering a purchase from this dealership is to ask upfront if the vehicle has any "dealer markup items." It could save you a lot of time and frustration. Overall, while I’m somehow disatisfied with my purchase, the lack of transparency regarding additional costs was disappointing.

1. a pre booked, on time appointment for the "first simple tire rotation service" took 6hrs (the whole day) to get my car back. Dropped my car before 11 am and got it back only by 5pm. Though informed upfront about the time. It's too long of a wait, for the details of the service done. 2. convenience: there was no "shuttle pick up offered" to customers after 3pm. reason stated, the shuttle drivers will be done, by 3pm. shouldn't this be based on the customers, and when the services are completed and vehicles handed back to customers. this isn't customer focused. not only waited for the whole day without my car, but also arrange my ride to get back to dealership. all other dealerships do offer this service to customers, both ways and it's very convenient. but not here.

Wed had a "glitch" driving our 2022 Bolt EV. The Chevy dealer in Novato accepted the tow-in of the car. At first the Service Dept's Kyle. let us know that the main battery had failed on the road. After a loaner EV and contacting GM, Kyle had sent data for diagnosis by GM engineers. The story ended well when this excellent service manager, Kyle, reversed about the battery. The findings reported a switch failure. We "switched" back and drove out relieved. Kyle followed this episode for a good resolution! Thanks and it's 5 Stars!!

My experience was one of the most horrific I have ever had dealing with a business. From management to my service rep, I was never kept up to date as to what was happening. I had to hound them only to sit on hold until I would finally give up going back to work. If it wasn't for me tracking down the part that was ordered and getting a confirmation we would have never known that they were sitting on it for two weeks unaware. Follow up was nonexistence. The whole process was a fiasco from beginning to end. After having my vehicle sit at the dealership for two and a half months, I am still waiting and holding my breath that they will get back to me regarding one of the parts that was never installed.

I had visited several EV car dealers in Orange County about a month ago while visiting my son. I decided that I wanted the Equinox EV and planned to return to Orange County to get a car but on Saturday, June 28 I went to Novato to test drive. The customer service that Jeffrey Martin-Martinez was great. However, the first service advisor I spoke to on the phone seemed annoyed that I requested to use the dealerships website coupon for my oil change and tire rotations. Lastly, the customer experience when picking up my truck at the end of the day seemed unorganized. It seemed like the service associated didn't know what they were doing. Perhaps there is a customer service training opportunity here?

We have felt very frustrated with both our first purchase experience and our first service experience at Novato Chevrolet, and will very likely never return to that dealership. We bought a 2023 Chevy Bolt there. We felt comfortable with the list price, but felt manipulated into agreeing to purchase the Nomad Appearance warranty at $1295 and the special door treatment at $595. These are advertised as optional on the vehicle information sheet, and described as optional in the purchase agreement, but are presented as a done deal that you can't refuse. There was virtually no room to negotiate. After over two hours, Gino Maynetto verbally promised a $130 price reduction, but then never included it in the final purchase agreement. By that time, we had been there over three hours, we were exhausted and we didn't want to wait for them to reprint the purchase agreement. Also, in negotiating the Extended Warranty, we felt it was fair to have that agreement begin after the current warranty ran out, about a year from now. But there was no budging on this either. As a consolation, Oscar our salesperson offered to get us a second key at their price, and told us he would have someone call to set up an appointment for the key and to have the next part of the Nomad appearance coating done. A week went by and no one called. I called Oscar several times, and he kept promising to have someone call. When I finally initiated a call on my own, no one knew what was happening, and we basically had to start from scratch and a whole week had gone by. We were quoted $133 for the key and $275 for programming, and set up an appointment. When we arrived, Jeff Martinez then told us there was additional fee of $75 for the remote emergency key. After expressing our upset about not being told about the remote emergency key beforehand, Jeff gave us a $25 discount. At the end of the day when we picked up the car, we were then told (after the work had been done!) we owed an additional $25 key cutting fee, which he "couldn't do anything about." Our experience is that every time we interact, there is some other surprise fee that we aren't expecting, and things are promised that basically feel untrue. We are extremely happy with the car itself, but our experiences with the dealership have left us hoping we will have a better experience with another dealership in the area.

I rarely complain but here is what happened. I made an appointment for my truck. The service brake pad monitor was on. I made an appointment a week or so later and was very specific with the problem. When my truck was checked in at 7:30am they read the codes and confirmed the problem. I texted the service adviser at 12:12, 2:50, and 5:26 to check progress. Each time I was told there was no update. They kept the truck overnight. At 9:50am I sent another text asking for status. At 10:45 i received a call back stating they had figured out the problem. The sensor was bad and would need to be ordered. It should arrive on day 3. I declined the order as I couldn't have my truck gone for another day. They could have looked at it on day 1 and ordered the part so they could have fixed it on day 2. Communication was horrible and if they were short staffed it would have been nice to know when I dropped the truck off so I could have rescheduled my visit. I will never go to Novato Chevrolet for service again.

However, after having checked the car in, I had the van deliver me to a location a few miles from the dealership, thanked the driver and told him I would need to be picked up at about 3:30, and thanked them for the ride. When I called the dealership about 3p and said I was ready to be picked up. I was flabbergasted when they said the shuttle is not available, and I would need to find my own transportation.

The maintenance team was very professional and the repairs were completed in a timely manner. My only comment is that the repair took 2 days and I could have been kept better informed of the status of the repairs. My major complaint is with the design of the fuel system venting system. This is the second time that I have had an expensive repair because the vent got plugged. I have never overfilled the tank and always use the automatic shutoff. If the automatic shutoff results in plugged vents, something is wrong with the design. The solution recommended to me is impractical, no, impossible. There is no way to know when the tank is full without the automatic shutoff. If someone has a solution, I would like to know.

We had battery issues with our second Bolt. The first (2033 model was repurchased by GM) and our second 2033 Bolt developed Propulsion Power issues. GM offered to repurchase this one as well since there is at least a 4 months wait for battery replacement. We met with David Coral at Novato Chevrolet. He suggested EV Equinox. He showed us the various vehicles of different level trim. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew all the bells and whistles of the EV Equinox. No pressure on the sales pitch. We went to the local Kia dealership and then returned to lease the Equinox. .

Asked if I wanted to make an appointment at 0800 or 0830 for an half hour oil change, chose 0800. Arrived 0800 told - gosh we have to service cars that are still being repaired from yesterday line up. wth. would you like to wait or it will be probably @ 1000 am before car is ready. Could of gone to oil changes or better DIY, but this was a free complimentary FULL SYNTHETIC oil change. Ask to be shuttle home. CAR wasn't ready till 1115am.Then get a text at 0840 telling me my appointment been CHANGED to 0915. Say what, I been here as told since 0800! Over 3 hour WAIT for a half and hour oil change and they wounder why, so many one star serive reviews? Plus had to agrue with service advisor to get my oil change done bc my new Trax LT only had 1200 miles on it. Watch youtube the car nut or I do cars, etc.. new engines or transmissions need fluids changed out 500 to 1000 miles bc of metal flakes cause my new gears making with each other, otherwise those metal flakes act as sand that block internal fluid channels ports and your gears. Maco & microscopic metal flakes from new gears synchronizing for the first time. Also, it a turbo, so according to the "the car nut" change oil every 3 to 4 k, NOT 7k or 10k like most car stealerships recommend bc they want you to BUY another new car in 3 -5 years. Plus several times had to repeat not to rotate my tires bc I only had 1200 miles on them. New Trax LT and the rear wiper sprayer doesn't work and I forgot to tell them, so now I have to go back for another half an hour service that will take several hours total to fix- On the Brite side shuttle service was available and a clean c waiting room, albeit THE CNN clown network media, playing- bring your laptop for free wi-fi MAGA.

Mi Bolt was delivered on an Tuesday morning, 12/16 for inspection of battery problems. I was finally able to get the car back in Thursday afternoon 12/18. The problem supposedly was a partial failure of the small 12 Volt battery which needed to be replaced. The car fix could not have been more than 20 minutes but I had to go without a car for three days during this Holiday season and pay $650.00+ for labor and a $300 12 volt battery.
