I'm frustrated that I was the full cost of the rental wasn't covered while my batter was replaced. My car was in for two weeks because of the defective battery - clearly and unequivocably GM's fault. I would have been happy to drive it around for those two weeks while we waited for a new battery (I've been driving it for two years!) but the software prevented that, so I had to get a rental. Again, that was GM's decision to design the software that way. Given that this was 100% GM's fault, it feels petty that they won't pay the full cost of a rental. They'll only cover $44 a day, and there were no cars available at that price point at Hertz, so I'm stuck with the difference. It isn't too much money, but if GM is going to nickle and dime its customers like this, I don't have a lot of incentive to purchase another GM in the future. I've already been driving around with a reduced battery for years. The least they could do is cover the rental.
